Carlingford 29er Grand Prix

The Notice of Race for the Carlingford 29er Grand Prix on 8/9 June is now available for download here.

As the first Triple Crown event of the year at Tralee was blown out, the replacement will be the sailor’s best result from either the Carlingford Grand Prix or Irish Multi-hull Easter Championships at Swords Sailing Club 31st Aug/ 1st Sep.

The choice of two events was decided upon due to some of the competitors not being able to make Carlingford due to exams.

Looking forward to a great turnout at our 29er class first visit to this club

Weekend of Speed with the 29er Northern Grand Prix at Carlingford Sailing Club

Following on from last years very successful weekend of speed at Ballyholme Yacht Club, the Irish 29er class has once again been invited back to the Irish Multihull Weekend of Speed, being held this this year at Carlingford Sailing Club on 8th-9th June.
As the first event of our Triple Crown Series was blown out and considering the exam timetable, it was decided that this event along with the Eastern Multihull Championships at the end of the summer would be used as the replacement with one of the 2 events being discarded.
More details to follow soon.

Sail a 29er in 2019

Sail a 29er in 2019!

2018 marked the inaugural year of the Irish 29er class association and saw the fleet grown rapidly to 21 boats in just over a year. With a network of coaches and training in place, we have created a very successful class with a calendar of events at National level. Internationally, many of our sailors have now reached a level where they are competing or have plans to compete outside Ireland in 2019.

The recent influx of boats has also created a situation where some of existing partnerships have decided to go their own way, each being a boat owner. We are now actively looking for sailors who would like to join an experienced 29er sailor (and boat owner!) to train and partake in events in 2019. This is a fantastic opportunity for sailors to get involved in the class and with an experienced partner, the learning curve will be so much faster. If you are interested, or want to find out more about the class, please email Jarlath O’leary at chair@irl29er.com.
You can also keep in touch by signing up for email updates on the front page of our web site or keep updated by following our Facebook page, Ireland 29er.

Wishing everyone a happy new year and hoping to see lots more boats on the water in 2019!

Event Dates for 2019
